  • Volunteers

- Volunteer at Competitions or Fundraising Events
This position requires at least 1 meeting held prior to event for volunteers to learn what they will be doing and ask questions. 
- Coach
Coaching involves approximately a 12 week or more commitment per sports season. Head Coaches must be certified by Special Olympics PA but it helps to have background knowledge of the sport also. Coaching involves training the athletes and then going to competitions with them, including sectional and state level games if the athlete(s) qualify.
- Volunteer on the Management Team
This position involves monthly meetings to develop and organize training and competitions for athletes, as well as, plan, organize and coordinate fundraising and public awareness events and other duties related to running an organization in our area.

  • Training Locations

- Whether it’s a local fitness company or a church with a basketball court, we are looking for places that would let us use facilities to train athletes and hold competitions for Special Olympics PA. Times and dates would be determined after discussing needs and availability with the facilities and coaches.

- Unified Sports® creates an opportunity for people without intellectual disabilities to join in the sports experience by playing on a team with athletes with intellectual disabilities.
